New this year, in the PCDL, we have integrated in game data solutions to better close the gap between training and competition. This allows our coaches to review in-game data and video, to better address how our players are implementing training objectives into gameplay. Our primary objective is to help all of our players translate their training into outs on the field of competition. This, unfortunately, gets lost too often in our process. Training facilities and coaches get lost in their own agendas or objectives. While on field coaches can sometimes miss the boat on development and look for the best short term outcome.

Below is a brief write up on each of the top 3 pitchers with the highest max pitching velocity captured in weeks two and three of PCDL league play.

Geo Camfield:

Geo is going to be a senior at Maryville university. He is a RHP from St Louis and stands at 6’3 and weighs 200 pounds. In 2022, he appeared in 12 games and made 8 starts on the mound with 37 strikeouts over 41.2 innings. In 2023, he made 11 appearances, including 2 starts. He struck out 8 batters over 14 innings. He throws a fastball, slider, and changeup with the max velo on his fastball recorded at 93.3 MPH!

Geo has a prototypical pitcher frame, with a very methodical and repeatable delivery. The late life on his fastball helps him pitch up in the zone as well as quality depth on his changeup that proves successful against hitters from either side of the plate.

Tommy Ray:

Tommy is going to be a senior and he is currently in the transfer portal. He is a RHP from Quincy, Illinois standing at 6’6 and 215 pounds. He started his career at John A Logan for two years. He made 17 career appearances there with 12 starts. He posted an 8-3 record with a 2.98 era in 60.1 innings pitched in his second year. He then transferred to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the 2023 season.

Tommy has a 4 pitch mix and his fastball max velocity reaching 92.3mph in PCDL gameplay! With a large frame and consistent, repeatable arm action, Tommy will be a great add for a lucky school this coming school year.

Ethan Voss:

Ethan is a RHP, who is going to be a junior. He was at Crowder College this past year and stands in at 6’4 225 pounds. He appeared in 6 games with a record of 2-0 and an era of 2.13. He had 11 strikeouts through 12.2 innings pitched. He is originally from Burnsville, MN. His max fastball velo has reached 91 MPH so far in PCDL games.

Ethan is another projectable frame with a very compact delivery. Ethan does a good job of staying behind the baseball and uses his legs well throughout his delivery.
